In this unit, students will learn about natural hazards and their impacts on individuals and communities. They will investigate causes and effects of hydrological and geomorphic hazards, analyse maps and create infographics, explore case studies, and create news stories. They will also learn about the impacts of climate change on natural disasters, volunteer services and organisations that help communities, and disaster-ready plans. Students will investigate the resilience of their own community and explore why people live in hazard-prone areas.
