Powering the Narrative: Clean Energy in Media
These resources are part of the Combatting Misinformation Education Resources, created in collaboration with Boundless Earth.
This Digital Technologies unit for Years 5 & 6, Powering the Narrative: Clean Energy in the Media, has been designed to
- develop critical thinking skills by guiding students to analyse digital content and identify misinformation and accurate information about clean energy
- equip students to become ‘Information Detectives’, exploring articles, videos and social media posts to distinguish credible information from misleading content
- encourage collaborative problem-solving, as students work together to evaluate, categorise and respond to digital media
- create digital campaigns promoting clean energy, teaching students to plan, design and produce engaging, accurate content using digital tools
- build students’ confidence in communicating ideas effectively, enabling them to present their campaigns, justify creative choices and provide constructive peer feedback.
Through hands-on activities, students will learn how digital media shapes public perceptions of clean energy and use their skills to promote factual information online, empowering their communities to make informed decisions.
