Visy - Design Thinking for Sustainable Recycling Solutions
This Design Thinking Unit, developed in partnership with Visy, aims to empower students to identify and address issues related to recycling in their community. The unit consists of a five-stage process of empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. Students will conduct research, develop ideas, create prototypes, gather feedback, and implement and reflect upon changed ideas. The unit culminates with students taking action in their community to address the issues they have identified. Lessons cover topics such as environmental impact of materials, upcycling cardboard, gathering information about habits and attitudes, and sharing findings with end-users.
