Data record sheet

This record sheet is for a school that has composting as part of its waste system. You can design your own if this one is not suitable.

Collect data

Your teacher will allocate an area for you to survey and collect data. Remember any rules you need to follow. You will need a digital camera or tablet (iPad) to take photos.

Go to your allocated area.
Observe and record your data.
Take a photo looking into the container, a photo of the container and its location and the litter around the container.

Analyse and combine data

Combine your data with all the other surveys. What trends did you find when you looked at all the data?

Produce a simple report

As a class, produce a simple report to the school management about how effective the school's waste system is operating. Include some photos.
