We are very lucky to live well, compared to the struggles of kids in other countries. We have clean water, plenty of food, a comfortable house and luxuries like the internet. Think of some things in your life that make you happy, and write a letter to your parent/caregiver letting them know they’re appreciated.

Tips for Parents and Carers
This task is a great opportunity to talk with kids about gratefulness and social conscience. Encourage them to consider the world outside of themselves, and ways they might help those in times of disadvantage compared to their own situation. Encourage them to be empathetic and consider their impact on the world.

Watch the news with kids and encourage them to think critically about what is being presented. What are their views on the rest of the world? They might be misinformed or lacking knowledge in certain areas, which is colouring their opinions.
