“Happiness hides in…”

Good poets often use repetition and rhyme to make their poems fun to read and listen to. Think about what makes you happy and use the provided poem structure to become a famous poet yourself!

Poems with repetition are easy to remember, and provide a nice musicality to a poem. Rhyming words also helps the lines of a poem link together and sound interesting, and keep the audience engaged with your poem. It can also be a good idea to have your poem loop around and finish back where it started, to make the audience feel like they have been taken on a journey.

Think about things that make you feel really happy. Maybe this is your favourite food, maybe it is a joke that is rude.

Think about things that make you sad, angry and scared.

Make a quick list of all of these things.

Step 3.

Using the structure below, write a poem about your emotions. Use the best examples from your list. Try to make the last word of each line with the same colour rhyme.
